Springfield Forward is a volunteer and community advocacy group
volunteering on various projects that help neighbors throughout the
City – from City cleanups, to literacy advancement in our schools,
to gathering warm winter gear and gently used children’s books for
our City’s students, to speaking before City Council and City
Departments on important issues. Here is some of the coverage of
various Springfield Forward events
Springfield Forward: One For The
Kids
March 26, 2010: Springfield Forward
Donates Books to Children at the Elias Brookings School
(May
12, 2009) Springfield Forward Member George Pappas appeals to
Springfield Mayor Sarno and The Financial Control board to build a
New Forest Park Middle School at the Longhill Gardens site.
Shortly after this Financial Control Board meeting, Mayor Sarno
chose to ignore the community's appeal and instead build a low
income warehouse rather than investing in the future of Springfield
School Children. See "Sarno Betrays Citizens of Springfield"
link above for more information. (Photo by WWLP 22 News).
