Helping To Empower Springfield Residents With Habitat For Humanity
Since 2008 Springfield Forward volunteers have pitched in to help build a new home for a hard working single mother. Springfield Forward workers braved freezing weather, cooked up hot soups, prepared lunch and provided general good cheer to all Habitat for Humanity volunteers. As of this writing in February 2010, the final stages of the Woman Build home are almost complete.
One of the unique features of this project was that only woman could help build the new home...this was truly a woman's build project; however, male volunteers from Springfield Forward did their part as cooks and bottle washers to keep those hard working gals moving along.
